This school was established in 1965 and is one out of a total of 9 independent secondary schools in Sabah. Every year, the application for Junior 1 exceeds the total number of intake which the school can accept due to limited number of classrooms.

The school decided to convert the existing 15 rooms to academic classrooms and build an extended new Administrative building to accommodate the teachers’ room, administration office and school principal office.

The new extension block of 3-storey Administrative building named The Community Chest Building was officially launched by Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah, YB Datuk Christina Liew and TCC Chairman, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Utama Cheng Heng Jem on 21 July 2018.
